In 2016 CWP collaborated with the Centre for Economics and Business Research (Cebr) on the development of a proposal for a study to capture the value of standards in the areas of microgeneration and medium scale renewable energy technologies to the UK economy, government and industry.  The study would mirror Cebr’s 2015 report ‘The Economic Contribution of Standards to the UK Economy’ commissioned by BSI, which quantified the value of standards to the UK economy and to seven individual sectors, including the energy sector (excluding mircogeneration and medium scale renewables).

CWP’s role in this project is to provide the underlying technical and socio-political understanding that contextualises the economics of the report.
